چکیده
Malignant mesothelioma is an aggressive cancer type linked to asbestos exposure. Because of several intrinsic challenges, often diagnosed in advanced disease stage. Therefore, there a need for diagnostic biomarkers that may contribute early detection. Recently, the epigenome tumors being extensively investigated identify biomarkers. This manuscript systematic review summarizing state-of-the-art research investigating DNA methylation mesothelioma. Four literature databases (PubMed, Scopus, Web Science, MEDLINE) were systematically searched studies up October 16, 2020. A meta-analysis was performed per gene at least two independent studies. total 53 97 genes and are described qualitative overview. Furthermore, ten 13 (APC, CDH1, CDKN2A, DAPK, ESR1, MGMT, miR-34b/c, PGR, RAR?, RASSF1, SFRP1, SFRP4, WIF1) included quantitative meta-analysis. In this meta-analysis, APC significantly hypomethylated mesothelioma, whereas WIF1 hypermethylated The three most appropriate candidate from APC, WIF1. Nevertheless, both study number objects comprised too low draw final conclusions on their clinical applications. elucidation genome-wide profile desirable future, using standardized analysis approach. informative CpG sites signature could then form basis panel highly sensitive specific can be used diagnosis even screening high-risk population asbestos-exposed individuals.

Diagnostic value of fibulin-3 for malignant pleural mesothelioma: A systematic review and meta-analysis
BACKGROUND Several studies have investigated the diagnostic value of fibulin-3 for malignant pleural mesothelioma (MPM), but the results were various. Therefore, we performed a systematic review and meta-analysis to evaluate the diagnostic value of fibulin-3 for MPM. RESULTS Eight studies were included in this work. The overall sensitivity of blood fibulin-3 were 0.87 (95% CI, 0.58 - 0.97) an...
متن کاملDiagnostic value of microRNAs in asbestos exposure and malignant mesothelioma: systematic review and qualitative meta-analysis
BACKGROUND Asbestos is a harmful and exceptionally persistent natural material. Malignant mesothelioma (MM), an asbestos-related disease, is an insidious, lethal cancer that is poorly responsive to current treatments. Minimally invasive, specific, and sensitive biomarkers providing early and effective diagnosis in high-risk patients are urgently needed. MicroRNAs (miRNAs, miRs) are endogenous, ...
متن کاملThe Diagnostic Value of DNA Methylation in Leukemia: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis
BACKGROUND Accumulating evidence supports a role of DNA methylation in the pathogenesis of leukemia. The aim of our study was to evaluate the potential genes with aberrant DNA methylation in the prediction of leukemia risk by a comprehensive meta-analysis of the published data. METHODS A series of meta-analyses were done among the eligible studies that were harvested after a careful filtratio...
متن کاملThe diagnostic role of DNA methylation in sporadic endometrial cancer: a systematic review and meta-analysis
Background Although increasing numbers of methylated genes have been identified as biomarkers for endometrial cancer, the results have been inconsistent. We therefore carried out a systematic review and meta-analysis to evaluate the diagnostic accuracy of methylated genes as markers for sporadic endometrial cancer. Results A total of 22 studies including 1930 participants (sporadic endometria...
